Travel in Sedona
Today I want to introduce Sedona, which has a lot of spiritual rocks.
By the way, I have known this city since two years ago from a YouTube video.
The video was about the performance of a concert band and the name of the piece was "Sedona". Because I had been playing the clarinet as a member of a school band, this video caught my ears.
I was immediately addicted to this amazing melody. Unfortunately, I didn't have chance to play it, but I have decided to visit there!!
It's not an exaggeration to say that the video took me to Sedona.
The song of SEDONA
Sedona was named after Sedona Arabella Miller Schnebly (1877–1950), the wife of Theodore Carlton Schnebly, the city's first postmaster, who was celebrated for her hospitality and industriousness.
Sedona's main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun.

This place is getting popular for Japanese people.
I heard some Japanese celebrities have their other houses there. This place is being ranked as one of the best places to live in the U.S every year.
Sedona is also famous for art. Many artists come there to make their arts like painting, handicrafts, and sculptures.
People believe that this mysterious place give them good inspiration which helps their work. They can just focus on what they want to do.
There is no better place to work as an artist than Sedona. Even if we are not an artist, we can forget our daily life and relax in this special city.
Furthermore, Sedona is very organized city. People are not allowed to build houses which have more than two floors and really stand out. In terms of colur, especially, they are very strict.
They just build brown houses not to disturb rocks. Interestingly, a sign of MacDonald in Sedona is green to be harmonized with the view.
セドナ
自分がセドナを知ったのはYouTubeからでした。
とある吹奏楽団がセドナという曲を演奏していてそれがとてもいい曲ですぐにハマってしまいました（笑）それから漠然とセドナ行きたいなあって思い始めて今に至ります。本当にいい場所でした（しみじみ）
セドナというのはもともとこの土地で郵便局長をしていたセオドア・カールトン・シュネブリーの奥さんの名前です。
セドナの魅力はやはり特徴的な岩の数々。
ベルの形に似たベルロックやスヌーピーが仰向けに寝ているように見えるスヌーピーロックなどがあります。
時間の都合で夕日は見れませんでしたが赤い色の岩が夕日に照らされた景色は間違いなく絶景でしょう。
最近は日本の有名人もここに別荘を持つ人がいるようです。
全米の中でも住みたい街のランキングで常に上位に位置しています。
セドナは芸術の街としても有名です。
たくさんの絵や、手芸、彫刻の数々を街の至る所で見つけることができます。
セドナのどこか神秘的で落ち着いた街並みが芸術家にインスピレーションを与えてくれると考える人も多いようです。
セドナは特に景観を大事にする街で、家屋の高さは2階までしか許されていません。
色もどうやら茶色系主体のものしかダメなようです。
セドナのマクドナルドは本当に地味で、建物は茶色、あの黄色のMのマークは緑色でした。景観と調和するようによく考えられていました。
後日談
この記事は2015年9/8に書いたもの。久しぶりに読み返すと色々思い出します。未だに吹奏楽曲の『セドナ』を演奏する機会も、生演奏を聴くチャンスにも恵まれておらず。その日はいつになることやら。
